WHAT IS COCO PEAT
What is Coco peat? Coco peat, also known as coir pith, coir fiber pith and coir dust is derived from coconut husk. The husk processed and the long fibers are removed to obtain the coco peat. Coco peat can generally absorb large quantities of water and is used as a fertilizer and a replacement for traditional peat in soil mixtures for plant cultivation.
1.Coconut Husk collected for processing
- Fiber is separated from the outer cover
- Long fiber and coir pith are separately collected after processing
- Long fiber collected for the production of mattress fiber bales
- Coir pith aka coco peat is separately collected for the process of manufacturing briquettes, blocks and bales.
What is it used for?
Coco peat is ideal for:
- Bedding Plants
- Potted plants
- Greenhouse crops
- Hydro seeding
- As an absorbent (Eg: To control oil spills &etc)
